4) The importance of Miami
Miami is a tourist center, one of the most visited cities by tourists in the United States because of its warm climate all year round, and beaches. The city is one of the most frequented by snow birds (the term used to describe the inhabitants of the northern United States of America, who spend the winter in southern states, particularly Florida, to escape the snow and cold). Tourism has become an important source of income for Miami from the 1920s, and is currently the main source of income for the city.
